6 CBD Infused Beverage Recipes: The Future of Drinks

If you’re one of those people who currently has three or more drinks by your side, you’re our kind of person. For those looking to add a creamy and refreshing drink to their repertoire, the whipped frozen lemonade is just the thing. It’s tart and tangy with a touch of sweetness to check all the boxes. 

Begin by collecting your ingredients. For the simple syrup, you’ll need:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Zest of 1 lemon

To craft the lemonade, grab:

  • ½ cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 ½ cups ice cubes  
  • 1 serving CBD oil

To prepare the simple syrup, combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and let it simmer over medium heat. Once the sugar dissolves, add a sprinkle of lemon zest to the mix and remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow the syrup to rest for about an hour, and then strain the mixture to remove all lemon zest.

Once the simple syrup is ready, you can begin to prepare the lemonade. Combine the syrup, lemon juice, coconut milk, CBD and ice in a blender, and blend until the drink is smooth and slushy. 

This tart beverage is the perfect mid-afternoon wake-me-up, especially when combined with CBD. CBD is known to interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which has a positive impact on cognitive function, focus and concentration. It may also benefit the gut microbiome, supporting brain health via the gut-brain axis, which controls communication between the central and peripheral nervous systems. 

#2 Green Protein Shake

For those looking for a pre- or post-workout beverage, opt for a CBD infused protein shake. Our favorite? A shake that combines a generous helping of protein and essential vitamins and nutrients. 

To craft this shake, you’ll need:

  • A helping of leafy greens, like spinach
  • 1 mango, chopped
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 serving CBD oil

To prepare, add the leafy greens, milk and water to a blender and puree until smooth. Then, add the remainder of the ingredients to the blender and combine to your desired consistency. This shake is packed with nutrients to support:

Heat the skim milk over the stove, stirring occasionally to avoid burning. Whisk in the hot chocolate mix and maca powder until both are fully combined into the milk, then add the peppermint extract. Once the mixture is fully heated, pour it into a cup and garnish with a fresh mint leaf.

#6 Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

If you aremaking your own cold brew, combine coarsely ground coffee and cold water in a ratio of about 1 cup of coffee grounds to 4 cups of water. Let the mixture steep for 6 to 8 hours for a shorter steep, or up to 24 hours for a more robust flavor profile. Then, strain the coffee grounds using a fine mesh sieve or a coffee filter.

In a separate container, mix ¼ cup of heavy cream with ¼ cup of milk. Adjust the ratio based on your taste preferences. Stir the cream and milk mixture into your cold brew, creating a creamy and smooth texture. Add vanilla syrup — to taste — for extra sweetness.
