It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by all the things you should do to be healthy. But you don’t have to do everything at once. In fact, starting with small changes will make it easier to sustain healthy habits. Here are three simple things you can start today:1. Exercise. Use your body for what it’s intended to do.
We all know that exercise is good for your health, but the challenge is actually doing it consistently. Worried about the getting-back-into-shape soreness or fatigue? We recommend CBD muscle rub. However, if you lack workout motivation, there are many things you can do to shift your thinking.
First, ask yourself why you want to be healthy in the first place. Are you trying to lose weight? Feel good in your own skin? Improve a health condition? Feel amazing in your wedding dress? Knowing your why will help keep you on track and focused. Also, always engage in exercise you actually enjoy. If you absolutely hate running but love pilates, kickboxing or dancing, then stick with what you like. If you force yourself to do something you hate, your motivation will dwindle.
Working out with a friend can be a huge motivator as well. Just knowing you have someone waiting for you holds you accountable and forces you to show up.
Also, if you’re in pain after working out, that can reduce your motivation. CBD may help ease joint pain and stiffness.
Finally, switch your mindset. Instead of thinking “I have to exercise,” say “I get to exercise.” This simple switch to show appreciation for what your body can do can make all the difference.
2. Sleep. Good quality sleep is vital to allow your body to rest, heal and recharge after a long day. Chronic lack of sleep can lead to weight gain and impact your mental health and overall quality of life.
Studies show those with poor sleep patterns are more likely to overeat and experience food cravings. CBD may promote a more restful sleep.
Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep a night whenever possible. Ideally, wake up and go to bed around the same time every day, including weekends. This will help establish better sleep patterns.
Limit any type of technology such as cell phones, TVs and tablets to within an hour before bed. Establish a relaxing bedtime routine, such as reading a book or taking a warm bath, to get yourself into sleep mode.
3. Eat Well. You truly are what you eat.
It’s no surprise that what we eat directly impacts our health. A healthy diet supplies you with the energy needed to get you through your busy days. It also reduces your risk of several chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
Fill your plate with plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains to feel your best and achieve better health.
Additionally, practice mindful eating. Listen to your body to know when you’re hungry and when you’re getting full.
Reduce distracted eating whenever possible. This means no eating in front of the TV, at the computer or while scrolling your phone. This will help prevent overeating and also create a more enjoyable mealtime experience. Good health doesn’t have to be complicated. Finding ways to consistently exercise, eat well and get enough sleep will make all the difference in your health.
CBD may provide just the impetus you need to start the ball rolling. With its mood-elevating properties, you may feel more motivated to exercise consistently. Those who exercise regularly tend to have a healthier diet because they feel better and are less stressed. This can, in turn, lead to better sleep habits.
The important takeaway here is to start with baby steps. If you fall back into bad habits, don’t stew about it; just get back on track ASAP. After all, tomorrow is another day ...
